Here are some frequently asked questions, but please contact us if there is anything else you'd like to know!
what makes these biscuits special?
All our biscuits are made with fresh ingredients, and hand-decorated
using layers of icing that require drying before the next is applied.
This makes all of our biscuits little pieces of art, with much time
and care spent on them.
can biscuits be customised with names or dates?
Yes! Some boxes already have biscuits designed to have names or other
details added to them, but most boxes can be customised with up to 3
words - this is offered at no extra cost. Please add details when
ordering.
can you create custom designs?
Yes! Please allow at least 10 days' notice and we will do our best to
create a biscuit for any occasion. Please email us directly to discuss
requirements and receive a quote - prices vary depending on the
intricacy of the design. Minimum order 10 biscuits. A 50% deposit is
payable at time of ordering, with the balance due 5 days before
delivery.
can I order individually wrapped biscuits as gifts?
Yes! Individually wrapped biscuits for favours or gifts can be ordered
and are each presented in a clear cellophane bag with a ribbon. You
can choose from any design on the website - prices vary depending on
the intricacy of the biscuit. Minimum order 10 biscuits. Please
contact us for prices.
how do I place an order?
For 'ready to order' biscuits these can be placed via the website, and
for wedding or bespoke biscuits by contacting us directly.
how do I pay for my order?
We accept payment through PayPal where you can use your card to pay
even if you don't have an account with PayPal. If you'd rather pay by
cheque please contact us directly.
how is my order packaged?
For boxed orders the biscuits are packed in an attractive sturdy box
with cushioning pads, wrapped with coloured tissue paper and tied with
ribbon to complement the biscuits. The box is sealed in a cellophane
wrap, and a gift card with your message is added. This is then sent in
a card postal outer.
when will my biscuits arrive?
Please allow 7 days from ordering for your biscuits to be delivered.
First Class Royal Mail is used to deliver the biscuits, and most
deliveries arrive within 1-2 days of being posted although this is not
guaranteed. The boxes are the right size to be posted through a
standard letter box, and UK delivery is £3.10 per address (free for orders
over £30). If you require an order more quickly, contact us to find out
about our 48-hour express service (subject to availability). Postal prices
for individually wrapped biscuits are dependent on weight and size when
packaged - this can be advised at time of order. Despite all the
careful packaging, a biscuit may occasionally break or crack, but we
will only offer a refund if 50% of the box is broken. If you have any
problems with the biscuits you receive from us please contact us and
we will do everything that we can to sort things out.
what sizes are the boxes?
There are two sizes of boxes, small (140mm x 90mm) and large
(220mm x 160mm). The number of biscuits per box depends on the biscuit
size and design - this can be found on our product pages.
what are the ingredients?
Our biscuits contain British ingredients of flour, egg, butter and
sugar, and good quality Madagascan vanilla extract. Our flavoured
biscuits also contain Fairtrade cocoa powder or orange or lemon
extract (rapeseed oil, lemon/orange oil). Our icing contains icing sugar,
Meri-White meringue powder plus colours*. We use local produce whenever
possible, and are particularly proud of some local hens that keep us
supplied with fresh eggs!
Our biscuits are produced in a domestic kitchen that handles products
with nuts and sesame seeds.
Allergy advice: Contains gluten, butter, wheat and free range eggs.
All our products are suitable for vegetarians.
